As recently as last month, new characters were being teased as future additions to the game. The closure is especially surprising given that Infinite Crisis was only officially launched on March 26 this year, after more than a year of open beta testing (Open beta began March 14, 2014, with the game having been in closed beta testing since May the previous year). News of the shutdown came via a post on the message boards of the game's official website, in which community manager Celestrata wrote that the decision to close came "after much deliberation." Infinite Crisis, the multiplayer online battle arena video game based on DC Entertainment's superheroes, will close down just six months after its official launch, it was announced Tuesday. Apparently, DC Entertainment's multiversal crisis was finite after all.
